Funeral service was held last Thursday afternoon for Arthur A. Bowman, 64, who died July 16, at his home at Lost Nation.
Bowman, who was born Dec. 11, 1880 in Spencer, followed career as a newspaperman all his life, practicing at Prairieburg, Central City, Ionia, Bettendorf and Lost Nation. He was born Dec. 11, 1880, in Spencer, and received his early education in Everly.
Oct. 28, 1905, Mr. Bowman was married to Miss Pearl DeLancy, Prairieburg, in Anamosa. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Surviving are his widow, one daughter, Lucille M., and one son, Austin Bowman, both at home, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Payne, Java, S.D., and Mrs. Etha Ulm, Forsythe, Mont.
He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Lost Nation and Trinity Cathedral, Davenport.
For a number of years he was owner and publisher of the Lost Nation Press, which, during his father's three years illness, has been managed by Austin Bowman.
