Mrs. P. C. Soesbe, 45, sister of Mrs. John Gootee, Anamosa, died Sunday evening, Aug. 5, at her home in Clinton, following a long illness. Funeral service was held at Clinton, Wednesday. Burial was made at St. Irenaeus cemetery there.

She was born Aug. 25, 1899, Frances Siegel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Siegel, at Dyersville. She grew up there, and April 20, 1921, married P. C. Soesbe, Central City. They made their home at Manchester until moving to Clinton about 15 years ago.

Mrs. Soesbe was a member of St. Irenaeus church, Clinton, the Altar and Rosary society, and served as president of the Parent-Teacher Assn.

Surviving are her husband, four sons, Lieut. James, missing in action since Sept. 24, 1944 in the European theatre where he served as a bombardier with the Air Corps; Corp. Robert, serving in the Philippines; John, William and a daughter, Mary Jo, at home; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. James Soesbe, Akron, Ohio; five sisters, Kate, Mrs. B. E. St. John, Waterloo; Elizabeth, Mrs. Ray McVay, Worthington; Ann, Mrs. George Lattner, Cedar Rapids; Lena, Mrs. John Gootee, Anamosa; Rose, Mrs. L. Lillibridge, New Hampton; a brother, Andrew Siegel, Dyersville; and several nieces and nephews.
