Funeral services for Aaron Long, pioneer resident of this community, were held at the Wilson Funeral home in Tipton at two p.m. Sunday, with Rev. U. J. Fike, of Clarence officiating. Interment was made in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Mr. Long was born at Lost Nation, Iowa, on July 28, 1853, but had made his home in Tipton for the past 16 years. He died on Friday at the home of his son, Hilbert, in Tipton. Mr. Long's mother named the town of "Lost Nation" after the railroad established its station on their farm and she was given the privilege of naming the town which would eventually take root there.
