Michael Robert Rose, 57, of Burlington, died at 2:30 am Saturday, January 23, 2021, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born June 4, 1963, in Clinton IA, he was the son of Robert Rose and Betty Gieger Edfors. He married Cheryl Drury, with whom he had his three children. They later divorced.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clinton, IA. He was a simple man, who loved music. He sang in the church choir, and enjoyed playing guitar. He loved to cook, and recently had rediscovered his love for art. He liked the outdoors, whether it was fishing, camping or mushroom hunting, anything to get him outside. Most of all, he loved his grandkids.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Cheryl Taplin; two daughters, Chasity (Nick) Beelner of North Liberty and Lindsey (Cole) Huff of Mount Pulaski, IL; one son, Devon (Allison) Rose of DeWitt, IA; three grandkids, Audrea, Logan and Griffin, one brother, Leonard Rose of Preston, IA; and one sister, Linda Bentley of Maquoketa, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Pat Dobson, Connie Whitaker and Lana Mason.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
There will be a Celebration of Life held by the family at a later date.
