Funeral services for John W. Clarke were held this morning at the church of St. Paul the Apostle at Davenport and burial was made in St. Marguerite's cemetery.
Mr. Clarke was a grocer in Clinton many years. He moved from here to Grand Mound and from there to Davenport 13 years ago. He came here from Ireland, where he was born 80 years ago, and was married here to Bridget Mooney in 1875 by Rev. Father Lynch of St. Mary's church.
