Robert L. Purcell Sr., 89, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at his residence in McAllen.
Mr. Purcell retired from St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company as a Corporate Security Professional. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a Captain of the Clinton Police Department in Iowa for 15 years.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mickie Thompson.
Mr. Purcell is survived by his wife of 69 years, Carol Purcell; three children, Robert L. (Diane) Purcell, Jr., Connie Joy (Dan) Hook, Keith (Debra) Purcell; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Deanna Gibson of Clinton, IA and Jeanne Reich of Argo Fay, Il.
Cremation took place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
