Pat Carey and son, John, of Portsmouth, Iowa, are here visiting relatives. They were called here by the death of Wm. McAndrews, Jr.
Funeral services for Wm. McAndrews, who died at Camp Pike of pneumonia following the Spanish influenza, were held Monday at 1:30 in the afternoon at the catholic cemetery in Toronto. Rev. O. J. Small conducted the services. The business houses of Toronto were closed and the gold service star had been placed on the Toronto service flag in honor of the soldier boy who had given his life in his country's service. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family, who have been called upon to undergo more than their share of sorrow. The mother died in May, and now another son, Francis has answered the call.
