Funeral services for Mrs. Chris Granzow, 83, Wheatland, who died May 27 in Gest Nursing Home, Grand Mound where she had made her home for several years, were held May 29 in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wheatland. The Rev. Harold Koenig officiated. Burial was in Pine Hill cemetery, Wheatland.

Wilma Riedesel was the organist and accompanied Larry Bright, vocalist.

Pallbearers were Walter Martins, Emil Endorf, Walter Fox, Erwin Martins, Louis Kelting and Arnold Fox.

The former Amanda Stoecker was born Dec. 17, 1880 in Stockelsdorf near Lubeck, Germany, the daughter of Louis and Dorothea Stoecker. She came to this country in April of 1881 with her parents who came directly to Lowden, where she attended the local schools. February 21, 1900 she was united in marriage to Chris Granzow. They lived first in Davenport then Bellevue, Bismark, N.D.; Chicago, Ill., and in 1940 they moved to Wheatland where they made their home. They observed their golden wedding in 1950. Mr. Granzow died in 1953 and a few years later Mrs. Granzow went to live at the nursing home.

She was a member of St. Paul's church and Women's Fellowship at the time of her death.

Survivors are a foster daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Klahn, Long Beach, Calif.; 2 brothers, Adolph Stoecker, Wheatland and Mathias Stoecker, Princeville, Ill.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Robert (Hilda) Barnes, Mt. Vernon and Mrs. James V. (Albertine) Milota, Lowden; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Louis who died in infancy, 7 brothers and 4 sisters.
