James Wisor, 79, of Camanche, Iowa, passed away Sunday, September 13, surrounded by loved ones at his residence.
Jim was born January 20, 1941 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Francis and Mary (Kane) Wisor. Jim graduated from Elvira High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 1963 from Iowa State University.
Jim started his career as sales manager for agricultural companies before starting Wisor's Feed Barn in 1973, which was later incorporated into Wisor's Feed and Grain in Low Moor and Teeds Grove, Iowa.
Jim enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, playing golf, and playing cards. Jim and Jean enjoyed family camping trips, local travels and traveling abroad.
Jim was the oldest of 11 children and raised on a farm in the Goose Lake, Iowa area. Jim had a strong work ethic, was honest and proud of his Iowa roots. He was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Camanche.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jean, married 55 years; five children: Jonelle Salomon of Torrance, California, Jodi Barrios of Chicago, Illinois, Kevin (Shannon) Wisor of Schaumburg, IL , Kathy (JoJo) Frias of Schaumburg, Illinois, Kim (Paul) Kirmis of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, five brothers: Paul (Roseanne) Wisor of Lowden, Iowa, Thomas (Cindy) Wisor of Camanche, Iowa, Larry (Margaret) Wisor of Springville, Iowa, Jerry (Eileen) Wisor of Princeton, Iowa, David (Valerie) Wisor of Raleigh, North Carolina; three sisters: Margaret (Larry) Ross of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Joan (Jim) Harms of Clinton, Iowa, and Janice (John) Wiese of Albany, Illinois; and ten grandchildren: Parker Salomon, Max and Arianna Barrios, Zane and Hailey Wisor, Walker and Scarlet Kirmis, Alexander, Victoria, and Henry Frias
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Mary Wisor; one brother: Don Wisor; and one sister: Marian Wisor.
Memorial Mass: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 2020, and the Church of the Visitation- Camanche. Private Burial Ceremony- Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Church of the Visitation. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory~ Camanche, Iowa.
