La Donna Hardersen Settle, 84, formerly of De Witt, Iowa, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020, at Aspen Rehab & Health Care Center in Silvis, Illinois.

La Donna Lu Eacker was born September 29, 1935, to Harry and Evelyn (Banker) Eacker in Clinton, Iowa. She married Richard Hardersen on July 17, 1959. The couple owned and operated R. Hardersen Plumbing and Heating in De Witt. Richard preceded her in death, on February 15, 1983. La Donna worked in the office of Howes & Jefferies Realtors in Clinton for several years. She later married Ken Settle, he also preceded her in death.

La Donna enjoyed dogs and had several over the years. She also enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra, Wayne Newton, and Dean Martin.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah and John Herman of Davenport; grandsons, Jarrod DeRooi (Emily Brehm-Stecher), and Joseph (Kate) DeRooi; 2 great-granddaughters; a step-daughter, Kristin (Rich) Moon; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her Aunt, Dorothy Moore, of De Witt.

La Donna will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, De Witt. No public services will be held. Arrangements are in the care of Schultz Funeral Home, De Witt.

Memorials are suggested to The Referral Center in De Witt.
