Lois L. Swanson, 95, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Rush Copley Medical Center- Aurora, Illinois.

Private Family Graveside Services will be Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Lois Lorraine Cornilsen was born on September 22, 1924, in Bryant, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Romey (Bratthauer) Cornilsen. She graduated from Goose Lake, IA High School in 1942. She married Alvin A. Swanson on May 29, 1949 in St. John Lutheran Church, Preston, Iowa; he died November 2, 1987.

Lois was a homemaker and was a member of Chancy Lutheran Church in Clinton. She enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She loved playing cards and bingo.

Lois is survived by her son: Dale Swanson (Susan) of Cedar Falls, Iowa, daughter: Lori Clausen (George deceased) of Wheeling, Illinois; Grandchildren: Anna Clausen, Dawn Thrall, Melanie Carinato, Richard Clausen, Andrea Clausen, Allyce Trusheim, Amy Hoidas Great-grandchildren: Isaac Trusheim, Maya Trusheim, Keegan Thrall, Autumn Thrall and Emma Carinato; her two sisters: Delores Diercks and Selma Schilling. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Howard Cornilsen and Lyle Cornilsen; three sisters: Avalda Malstrom, Lucille Buell, Marilyn Kurtzfield, and her children: David Alvin and Daniel Edward.
