Julia Rae Schaley age 73 of Morrison, IL, passed away Sunday June 28, 2020 at Rock River Hospice House in Sterling, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of friends and family will be held 5 - 7 PM Thursday July 2nd at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Julia was born on Oct. 9, 1946 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Loretta (McPherson) Thielen. She married Barry Schaley on June 19, 1962 in Morrison, IL. Julia worked as a cook at the former Frontier Restaurant in Clinton for 19 years. She enjoys reading, camping, and watching old Western movies.
Julia is survived by her husband, Barry Schaley of Morrison, IL; two daughters, Dorothy (David) Benters of Morrison, IL and Brenda (Joseph) LaShelle of Thomson, IL; two sons, Barry (Angie) Schaley Jr. of Washington, IA and Nick (Karen Fahlbeck) Schaley of Camanche, IA; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
