Alberta M. Vegter, 93, of Morrison passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2020 at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation – Morrison, Illinois.

Alberta M. Norman was born June 23, 1927 in Erie, Illinois, the daughter of Claus and Winnie (Londo) Norman. She was a 1944 graduate of Erie High School. She married John Vegter on August 30, 1969 in Prophetstown, Illinois; he preceded her death on September 1, 1995.
She worked as a bookkeeper until she retired in 1989 and she was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church.
Alberta is survived by her son Allan VanDyke of Richland, Washington; son-in-law Dave Damhoff and his current wife Becki of Morrison; stepson Gail Vegter of Michigan; grandchildren: Derik (Nina) and Dustin (Jackie) Damhoff of Morrison and 8 additional grandchildren that are no long in the area; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters: Sue Damhoff and Peggy Foster; stepson Gary Vegter, three sisters and one brother.
