James Raymond Moore (1933-2020)

Mr. James R. Moore, 86, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday morning, June 20, 2020, in the comfort of his home.

James Raymond Moore was born August 13, 1933, in DeWitt to Raymond and Sophia (Jensen) Moore. He graduated from Grand Mound High School in 1952. Jim served in the United States Army stateside during the Korean War and greatly enjoyed the Honor Flight to Washington DC several years ago. Upon being honorably discharged, Jim farmed and was a Transportation Driver for Case/IH until retirement. After his retirement from Case, Jim worked at the Rock Island Sale Barn until age 82. Jim married Karen (Lewis) Fariss February 22, 2003, in Bettendorf.

Jim was a farmer at heart, enjoying all aspects of the farm, especially cattle. He loved time spent with his family and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs.

Surviving are his wife, Karen; children, James Dean Moore of Wheatland, Jeanine Beranek of Solon, Jeff (Angie) Moore of Nelson, Illinois, Joleen (Lance) Henning of Ankeny, Diane (William Clinton) Moore of Marion, Arkansas, Darsha (Jay) White of Ely, Kelly (Steve) Summers of Moline, Illinois and Kory Fariss of East Moline and Kevin (Angela) Fariss of Wayland, Iowa; grandchildren, Megan (Kris) Richardson, Jonathon (Samantha) Beranek, Kayla (Mitch) Heiar, Kyle (Cierra Wilder) Moore, Moriah Henning, Savanna Henning, Jenna White, Kendall White, Jensen White, Chloe Summers, Cassidy Summers, Chase Summers, Kristen (A.J.) Crone, Austin Fariss, Lilly Fariss, Audrey Fariss, Lane Fariss and Landon Fariss; great-grandchildren, Eli, Lucas and Henry Richardson; siblings, Maurita (Jim) Burke of DeWitt, Vince Moore of Clarence, Dave (Karen) Moore of Dover, Tennessee, Laurent (Carol) Moore of Grand Mound and Pam Nosa of Davenport; a sister-in-law, Lois Moore-Rittmer of Grand Mound and nieces and nephews.

Preceding Jim in death were his parents; an infant son, Dirk Moore; a son-in-law, Tim Beranek; a grandson, Louis Beranek; brothers, Raymond Moore, Jr. and Edward Moore; a brother-in-law, Gary Nosa; a sister-in-law, Beverly Moore; his former wife, Doris Moore Brick and his wife, Dorothy.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2020. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Fr. Francis Odoom officiating. Burial and Military Rites will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Grand Mound.
