Donna M. Van Buer age 91 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday April 8, 2020 at The Alverno Health Care Facility. Private family graveside services will be held Saturday April 11th at Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be given to the Clinton Lions Club, Prince of Peace Schools, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com

Donna was born Feb. 27, 1929 in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Fred and Margery (Holm) Peters. She graduated from Mt. Carroll High School in 1947. Donna married Dwaine Van Buer on May 8, 1948 in Clinton; he died in 2014. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper at Van Buer Agency, Inc. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, past president and secretary of the Clinton Lions Club. Donna was a volunteer for Mobile Meals (RSVP), quilting for the church, and doing family genealogy. Donna and her husband enjoyed extensive world travel and playing golf. Donna enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and was a regular blood donor.

Donna is survived by seven children, Darrel (Ann Chang) Van Buer of Los Angeles, CA, Louise (Bob) Peterson of Richland, WA, Ann (Steve) Flagg of Toledo, OH, Lyle (Kathy) Van Buer of Davenport, Paul (Cathi) Van Buer of Clinton, Michael (Sue) Van Buer of Maquoketa, and Tom (Jeni) Van Buer of Coralville, IA; 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; and her sister, Luanne Phillips of Cedar Rapids, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Dwaine.
