Grand Mound, Ia., May 14--David Stoller has left this earthly home for a heavenly home. He was born near Albany, New York state, Aug. 19, 1837, and passed to his reward May 10, 1915, having reached the ripe age of 77 years, 8 months and 21 days. He was the son of Philip Stoller and wife, one of a family of thirteen children, only three of whom survive him. In the year 1854, he with his parents emigrated to Rockford, Ill., thence to Janesville, Wisconsin. It was in Wisconsin that he became acquainted with and married Miss Addie Twist, on May 6, 1866. This union was blessed with four children, Edward David, of Jamesport, Missouri, Ida Adell and Fred who have made their home with the father, and Myra, who some twenty years ago preceded her father into that blessed country. In 1895, after about thirty years of married life, Brother Stoller was bereft of his loving wife which was a deeply felt loss, for she was a woman of sterling virtues, a true wife and a loving Christian mother. Since that time the remaining daughter, Ida, has helped to make a home for the father and brothers, where love, loyalty and service were the watchwords. Besides the three children who survive him, are two sisters, one brother, three grandchildren and other relatives, while many friends and neighbors will miss him.

In 1866 he came to Grand Mound, almost fifty years ago, and had ever since with his family made his home on the farm just north of Grand Mound. More than forty years ago he united with the Methodist church and has ever been a loyal member, being for many years a faithful trustee of the local church. On Wednesday at 1 p.m. the last respects were paid to his memory at the Methodist church of Grand Mound, a former pastor and friend of the family, Herbert T. Prell of Anderson, Ind., conducting the services, assisted by the local M.E. pastor, Rev. Buell. Many friends and neighbors showed their love and appreciation by their presence, their words of sympathy and beautiful floral tributes. The pallbearers were: Henry Moeller, William Barber, Wm. Hassenmiller, Frank Smith, George Cook and J. W. Reihman.
