Camanche, Iowa, April 3--Mrs. Electa Pate Taylor was born in Dearborn county, Indiana, May 27, 1837, and died at her home in Camanche late Sunday night, March 28, 1914, at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 1 day. In 1854 she was united in marriage to Hugh Taylor. To them were born three children, one dying when quite young. Mrs. Taylor had been ill only a few days with pneumonia. She was an old resident of Camanche. Her husband preceded her in death fourteen years ago. Left to mourn her death are two sons, Dan Taylor of Fulton, Illinois and James Taylor of this city, five grandchildren, a sister, Miss Electa Pate, who lived with her, and a brother, Mr. James Pate, who lives four miles north of Camanche.

Funeral services were held from the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. F. E. Pelton, pastor of the church conducting the services. Appropriate songs were sung by Mrs. Mary Hogg and Mrs. E. G. Cady. Many beautiful flowers were brought by loving friends, tokens of their esteem for the departed one. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. The pallbearers were C. E. Roscoe, C. C. Judd, George and Charlie Small, Will Traver and Will Thomas.

The family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends and neighbors.
