12 March 1915 - The Clinton Advertiser page 4

While at work yesterday afternoon, Jack Stevens, employed at the Finch Auto company, 1001 S. Fourth street, suffered an attack of heart failure and died a few minutes later.

Mr. Stevens worked all morning and through the noon hour, apparently in good health. Shortly after 1:30 he stepped out for lunch. On his return he joked with Rudolph Anderson, another employe, a few minutes and went to the rear of the garage to resume his work. Five minutes later he was noticed sitting on the running board of a car, apparently dozing. When others in the garage approached him he appeared faint and was breathing heavily. Anderson, Frank Finch, Harry Finch and John Hall laid the man on some car cushions and summoned a doctor immediately. Dr. Heusinkveldt arrived in five minutes, but Stevens was already beyond medical aid. He died at about 2:30.

Mr. Stevens was about forty-four years of age. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Laura. The funeral will be Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the home, 529 First avenue, with interment at Springdale cemetery.
