RAILROAD MAN IS FOUND DEAD
Charles F. McConehey, passenger conductor on the Northwestern railway was the unfortunate victim of asphyxiation by illuminating gas some time Saturday.
The deceased, who runs from Clinton to Boone, was rooming over the Petersen Shoe store on Fifth avenue, and wen called for his run on Saturday afternoon could not be summoned. Investigation revealed his death, which was pronounced purely accidental, due to escaping gas from a heater in the room.
Coroner Kellogg decided that an inquest was not necessary.The Clinton Advertiser, Monday, January 6, 1920

The remains of the late Charles F. McConehey, who died here Saturday as a result of asphyxiation, were taken to Boone, Iowa, where the deceased made his home, and the funeral will be held there.
