Oxford Mirror July 19, 1923

John B. Wolfe, 71, well known farmer near Lost Nation, died Monday at Mercy hospital in Clinton after a long illness. The body was taken to Lost Nation for burial. Mr. Wolfe leaves his wife, five sons, Rev. Fr. Thomas Wolfe, of Ft. Madison, Ed of Fulton, Ills; Paul, Eugene and Cyril, at home and a daughter, Mrs. Irene Lahay, of Fulton, Ills. He also leaves two brothers, Attorney R.B. Wolfe of DeWitt and Maurice Wolfe of Lost Nation.

John B. Wolfe died at Mercy hospital at Clinton, Monday before noon, July 16th, at 11 o'clock. Mr. Wolfe was one of the early settlers of Clinton county, coming there from Illinois when a small boy with his parents in 1856. He is survived by his wife, one daughter and six sons.
