26 February 1915 - The Clinton Advertiser page 6

John T. Hicks, aged 56, a resident of Clinton for a number of years, dropped into a chair at the Northwestern weight shanty, at Liberty street, Thursday evening and was dead before aid could be summoned. Mr. Hicks, who was weighmaster for the Northwestern, had been outside and came into the shanty. Three men were in there and he complained of not feeling well as he slumped into a chair. A moment later he lolled back, lifeless. Heart trouble was the cause of his death.

Mr. Hicks had long been in the employ of the Northwestern. He was widely known in Clinton. He lived with his son, O. P. Hicks, 644 Seventh avenue. He is survived by his wife and five children, O. P., and E. M. Hicks of Clinton and three daughters, Mrs. Alden of Maquoketa, Mildred and Lillian.

Funeral arrangements are awaiting word from relatives in Michigan.
