"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." II Corinthian 5:8. On Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 10:43 AM, Edith M. Bell transitioned to her eternal home to be at rest. As a young woman, she professed her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was diagnosed with lung cancer November 22, 2019. She fought a good fight, she kept her faith and it is in this we have hope.
Services will be held at 1PM Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig, visitation will be held from 11AM until the service time at the funeral home.
Edith Mae Bell was born June 8, 1952 to the union of Lee Edward Bell, Sr and Clyde Beatrice Cage in Tunica County, Mississippi. Two children were born to this union. As a child, her mother preceded her in death. Amos Bell, Jr and Lelar Bell, her grandparents reared her and brother, Willie until adulthood.
Survivors include her children, Docreletta Bell of Clinton, Iowa; Shanda Bell and April Houessou both of Davenport, Iowa and Erwin Bell of Pekin, Illinois; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; Thirteen brothers with three preceding her in death, Lester Bell, Willie Lee Bell and Derrell Tyrone Bell. To cherish her memories, she leaves her brothers: Lee Edward Bell Sr. (Tammy) Of Sledge MS; Edgar Louis Bell of Killeen TX; Jimmie Lee Bell (Central) of Fort Worth TX; Curtis Mario Bell (Leonida) of Southaven MS; Christopher Allan Bell of El Paso TX; John William Bell of San Antonio TX; Levell Tyrone Bell of Memphis, TN; Tony Omar Bell (Rebecca) of Surprise, AZ; Napoleon Wilson (Cherelle) of Horn Lake MS and Bryan Wilson (Kenya) of Horn Lake MS: Eight sisters with three preceding her in death, LaGwen Bell , Lucy Slater and Tecora Oliver: She leaves her sisters, Geraldine Tabors of Cleveland, Oh; Ollie Anderson of Tacoma WA; Tangaree M McKinley of Spokane WA; Lulanda D Bell of Fort Worth TX and Leedna Tribble of Rossford Ohio.
Her life and memories will be carried on through 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
