Word was received yesterday of the death of Mrs. Bertha Cooley, sister of Mrs. Carrie Witt, of 110 S. Sixth street. Mrs. Cooley was born in Lyons February 10, 1864. She attended the Lyons public schools and was a graduate of the Lyons High school of the class of '81. She died at Independence yesterday morning at 5:30. she is survived by two daughters, Myrtle and Viola of Clinton and also one son, Wendell of Clinton, and two grandchildren. She is also survived by the following sisters, Mrs. Clara Boyd, Mrs. Anna Bockel, Mrs. W. W. Messer of Clinton, and Mrs. Carrie Witt of Lyons.

The funeral will be private and will be held from the home of her sister, Mrs. Witt Friday afternoon at 2:30 with burial in Oakland cemetery. Friends are asked to kindly omit flowers.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Bertha Cooley, who died at Independence, was held yesterday afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. Carrie Witt of 110 South Sixth street, the Rev. N. A. McAulay in charge. The funeral was private, only relatives being in attendance. Burial was in Oakland cemetery. The following people attended the casket: Messrs. Albert Buechner, Louis Hobein, Walter Bock, Reed Boyd, and Oliver and Clarence Messer.
