Dean L. Hute, 71, of Lost Nation, and formerly of Delmar and Maquoketa, passed away on Friday morning, November 8, 2019, at Windmill Manor in Coralville, Iowa.

A natural journey farewell with cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.

Dean Laverne Hute was born on December 19, 1947 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Elmer and Daisy (Clark) Hute. He grew up in Maquoketa and attended Maquoketa schools.

Dean had worked as a butcher for many years at the Eldridge Meat Market. He then worked construction for area contractors.

Dean enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He liked watching sports and was an avid fan of the Bears and Cubs.

Those left to honor Dean's memory include his children, Amber Hute of Solon, IA, and Robin (Gabe) Watters of Clarence, IA; a daughter-in-law, Megan Hute of Delmar, IA; 6 grandchildren, Aiden, Hudson, Ryan Jr., Kaidence, Emily and Jackson; a brother Steven Hute of Davenport, IA; and sisters Carol (Alan) Carr of Monmouth, IA, and Cheryl Sohn of Maquoketa, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Douglas and Ron, sisters Joan, Patricia and Jackie, and a son Ryan Hute on December 5, 2018.
