Fred Voss, aged 78 years, died this morning at 10 o'clock at Agatha hospital, following an operation. He had been ailing for some time. Mr. Voss lived at 1218 South Third street.

The funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Funeral services for Fred Voss will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late home, 1218 South Third street. The Rev. A. H. Lutz of the German Lutheran church will officiate and burial will be made in Springdale cemetery.

The deceased was born in Fhirweg, Germany, on Jan. 3, 1838. He came to America in 1866 settling in Clinton, Iowa. The following year he married Christina Rubberg. Mr. Voss had been employed by the Chicago & North Western railway, and by the city driving the street sprinklers. Previous to his retirement, 14 years ago, he was engaged in the seed business.

Surviving to mourn his death are the wife and two daughters, Mrs. Charles Bach of Belle Plaine, Ia.; and Mrs. Henry Kaiser of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Funeral services for Fred Voss were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family home, 1218 South Third street. The Rev. A. H. Lutz of the German Lutheran church officiated and burial was made in Springdale cemetery.

The pallbearers were Will Bock, Florian Salutz, A. Nisson, Mr. West, M. T. McCarthy and W. Stillion.

Attending the funeral from out of the city were: Miss Florence Bach, Fred and John Bach, all of Belle Plaine, Ia.; and Will Stillion of Kenwood, Ia.
