CLINTON-- Eva S Steines, 88, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at home on Saturday September 14, 2019. A graveside service occurs at 2 pm on Thursday, September 19, at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will occur from 1 pm until 2 pm at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Eva was born November 24, 1930 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of William and Grace (Hendricks) Crowell [daughter of Isaac Eugene Marr and Grace Elnora Hendricks Marr Crowell. Eva's parents divorced and her mother married 2nd William Crowell]. She [Eva] was a graduate of Clinton High School. Eva was united in marriage to Merlin W. Steines on January 19, 1949. Merlin Passed away in 2007.

Eva was a house wife and also a Book Keeper for Baker Distributing for 10 years.

Eva enjoyed fishing with her family, playing cards and league bowling. She loved tending to her flower gardens. She also enjoyed watching birds on her son's farm. She was a loving and kind mother who always put her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, needs before hers. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.

Eva is survived by her daughter - Jo Colschen of Clinton; son - Merlin (Cindy) Steines of Decorah, IA; four grandchildren - Ben, Justin, Becky, Eva; seven great-grandchildren - Austin, Kassidy, Christian, Grace, Kamryn, Keagan and Karrissa; one sister - Ann Shaw of Camanche; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding Eva in death were her parents, husband, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
