Word of the death of Mrs. Ellen Stone, a former DeWitt resident, was received yesterday afternoon from Independence. Her death occurred on Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock. The remains will arrive in DeWitt Friday morning, and the funeral will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the McGinnis undertaking parlors. Deceased was aged 68 years. She was born in Clarion county, Pennsylvania, and came to DeWitt when a young girl and resided in this vicinity until about twelve years ago. Two sisters, Mrs. Kate Schearer of Tarkio, Mo., Mrs. Gove of Windon, Minn., three brothers, P. C. Jones of Clinton, F. C. Jones of Coon Rapids, and C. B. Jones of Ames, and one son, C. W. Stone of Buffalo, N. Y., survive. Interment will be made in Elmwood cemetery. Those who will act as pall bearers are C. A. Butterfield, C. C. Christiansen, Phil Butterfus, Thos. Clement, R. M. Smith and L. H. Thorne.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Ellen Stone, whose remains were brought here from Independence yesterday morning, was held Friday afternoon at the McGinnis undertaking parlors. Burial was made in Elmwood cemetery.
