21 November 1917 - The Clinton Advertiser page 6

Mrs. Anna Ebert, an old resident of Lyons, passed away at her home at 320 Ottawa street last evening at 5 o'clock. The deceased had been in good health, and celebrated her ninety-fourth birthday Friday, a number of her friends calling and leaving many remembrances. But Sunday she caught cold and owing to her advanced age, she died at the above stated time.

Mrs. Ebert was born November 16th, 1823, in Ober Hallau Canton, Schassahusen, Switzerland. In 1847 she came to Cincinnati, Ohio, and was united in marriage to Conrad Ebert in 1851. Four children were born to this union, two sons now deceased and two daughters surviving. In 1856 they came to Lyons, Iowa, where she has lived ever since. After a lingering illness, Mr. Ebert passed away in 1877. From that time until about four years ago, Mrs. Ebert had lived alone at 320 Ottawa street. Since then her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen, have lived with her and given her the best of care, and were with her when she died.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lena Roop of Princeton, Iowa, and Mrs. Henry Hansen of this city, six grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30, with services at the late residence and interment in Oakland cemetery. The Rev. Hugo Grimm will officiate.
