Stanley K. “Stan” Tobey, age 86 of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Clinton, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 in Tucson. Cremation rites will be accorded with a celebration of life to take place at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Stan was born in Carroll County, IL, the son of Floyd and Mabel (Groeharing) Tobey. He graduated from Scottsdale High School, Scottsdale, AZ in 1951. He served with the US Navy. Stan married Ruth Ann Nielsen in 1954. Ruth Ann passed away in 1964. He later married Vickie Hupp on November 28, 1967 in Omaha. Stan was employed with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 42 ˝ years. He was a Union Rep and served as the Union’s Secretary. He also worked for Ford Vending Company. Stan was a member of the Amvets and Loyal Order of Moose. He was a Clinton Junior Baseball coach for 25 years and had coached the Plaza Bowl women’s softball team. Stan enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, gardening and golfing. He rode in RAGBRAI a couple of times and after moving to Tucson enjoyed helping others around the retirement center.

Stan is survived by his wife, Vickie; 4 children, Cindy Tobey of Savanna, Dale Tobey, Sherri Tobey and Brenda (Corey) Tobey Ready all of Clinton; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Linda (Bill) Woods of Fort Collins, CO and 2 brothers, Wayne (Marian) Tobey of Loveland, CO and Gene (Marilyn) Tobey of Tucson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Debbie Tatelman.

Cremation rites will be accorded with a celebration of life to take place at a later date.
