Paul Paulsen died Thursday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at his home, 828 Eleventh avenue, after a lingering illness of two and a half years.
Mr. Paulsen was born in Denmark, on Dec. 21, 1846 and came to America while a youth. He was a highly respected citizen and had been in the employ of the old Lamb & Young plant during its operation also a janitor of the Clinton public schools for several years, having charge of the Lincoln school previous to his death.
Left to mourn his death are four children, Mrs. Ella Peters of McCausland, Ia.; Mrs. Bena Nowlin of Dubuque; Jacob Paulsen of Davenport; and Hans Paulsen of Denver, Colo.; an aged mother, 94 years, and two sisters and two brothers in Denmark; two sisters, Mrs. Sven Petersen and Mrs. F. H. Mathiesen, and one brother, Martin Paulsen, of this city; also 12 grandchildren, and a faithful houseworker, Mary Johannsen.
Funeral services for the deceased will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Danish Lutheran church, with short services at the home at 1:15.
