Mrs. Josephine Jess of 489 Tenth avenue passed away Sunday morning, after an illness of five years due to heart trouble. Deceased was born in Germany Feb. 4, 1846, and after coming to this country made her home near Sabula for a number of years, coming her only a short time after.

The funeral services will be held on Tuesday in the Methodist church at Sabula and burial is to be made in Canada Hollow cemetery. The funeral party will leave here on Tuesday morning to go to the Sabula church, and after the service there will return to the cemetery for burial.

Mrs. Jess is survived by a brother in Sabula and also one son at that place.

Mrs. Hans Jess, mother of Peter Jess, 489 Tenth avenue, died Sunday at the home of her son, after an illness with heart trouble.

She was born in Germany, February 4, 1846 and came to this country early in childhood. Mr. Jess died eight years ago. Two sons and a daughter, are left to survive. They are Peter, Henry and Mrs. Peter Nissen of Sabula.

The funeral procession left Clinton this morning at 9 o'clock for Sabula where the funeral will be held at the Methodist church.
