Peter Jennings, an old employe of the Northwestern, formerly of Clinton, but late of Chicago, was laid to rest in Mount Carmel cemetery this week.
Mr. Jennings was the son of the late Catherine and Thomas Herrity of Twelfth avenue, brother of Martin W. Jennings of Chicago, Mrs. Kate Hayes, Chicago, Mrs. Mary Winebrenner of Marshalltown, Iowa, Mr. Thomas Herrity of Clinton, Iowa, and the late Sarah Dougherty of Chicago.
He died on Sunday, March 4th, at 9:30 p.m. after an illness of one month. He was buried from the residence of his brother, Martin W. Jennings, 2511 Flournby street, Chicago, then to the Precious Blood church, where high mass was celebrated.
His pall bearers were his six nephews, Walter Jennings, John Herrity, Clinton; Harry Hayes, Charles Hayes, John Hayes, John Lynett, Chicago.
The honorary pall bearers, now resident of Chicago, formerly old residents of Clinton were: Thomas McGloon, James Furling, Tom Monroe, John Cotter, James Dougherty.
Out of town friends attending the funeral were Mrs. Mary Winebrenner, Marshalltown, Iowa; Mrs. John Mewherter, Tipton, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. John Cotter, Clinton; Mrs. Mary Herrity and John Herrity, Clinton.
