After an illness of seven weeks' duration, Mrs. Joseph Borbeck passed away at her home, 207 Division street, at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Miss Johanna Temming was born in Ammelon, Westfalia, Germany, on March 20, 1868. She was united in marriage with Joseph Borbeck in Sudlohn, Westfalia, Germany, April 9, 1884, coming to America immediately after, residing in Lyons. To this union were born ten children, three of whom preceded their mother. The seven children with the bereaved husband left to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother are Lizzie, Mrs. Alfred Stoltenberg, Frank, Erma, Henry, Agnes and Volbergas; and two grandsons, Joseph and Gerald Stoltenberg, all residing in Lyons. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Wm. Viffling, in Bochum, Westfalia, Germany.
The funeral will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Boniface church, followed by interment in St. Boniface cemetery. Rev. J. M. Tritz will officiate.

Solemn requiem high mass was celebrated this morning at the funeral of the late Mrs. Joseph Borbeck, held at 9 o'clock at St. Boniface church. Rev. Jos Tritz acted as celebrant, Rev. Brinkman of the Sacred Heart church, Clinton deacon and Rev. Murphy of Mercy hospital, sub-deacon. The funeral was largely attended. Interment was made in St. Boniface cemetery. The pall bearers were Messrs Michael McEleney, Mat Joebjen, Reinhart Zimmerman, Peter Joens, Clem Droste, George Scofield, Claus Wulf and James Hand.
The following relatives and friends from out of the city were present at the funeral: Mrs. J. Tusick, Chicago; Mrs. Reis, Chicago; Mrs. Edward Henie, Muscatine; Mr. Byers, Mt. Carroll, Ill.; Mrs. Joe Eisele, Davenport; Mrs. Horst and son, William, Davenport; Mrs. M. Simmons, Necora, Nebraska; Mrs. Anton Simmons, Necora, Neb.
