Mrs. Emma Greisen, aged about 85 years, passed away at 7 o'clock this morning at the home of Mrs. Lena Hoffman, 116 Clinton street, death being due to the infirmities of old age.
The deceased was born April 15, 1832, in Eugin, Holstein, Germany. She has lived in this city for a number of years and was well known by a large circle of friends.
Her husband H. Greisen, was a school teacher in Bryant and Lyons, and also was editor of a German newspaper, the Wochenblatt, printed in Lyons some years ago. He will be remembered by the older resident of this city. He died about fifteen or twenty years ago. One son, Emil Greisen, died ten years ago, and left one son, who is the only surviving relative.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of Mrs. Hoffman, 116 Clinton street, with services by Rev. Hugo Grimm of St. John's Lutheran church. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.
