Lucille C. Dodd, 102, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the Alverno on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. A graveside service will take place at 11 am on Saturday, June 22, at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Lucille was born March 4, 1917 in Sterling, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Mayme (Lynds) Martin. She was a 1935 graduate of Sterling High School. She then earned a College Degree from the Scovill Business College in Clinton. After receiving her degree, she taught shorthand and accounting at the Scovill Business College for three years. She would end her career working at Nielsen Clearing House following 20+ years.
Lucille was united in marriage to Russell Dodd on May 24, 1941 in Palmyra, Missouri.
She was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Clinton. She was also a member of the Moose and the Kings Daughters Organization.
Lucille loved being outside and tending to her garden. She especially enjoyed entertaining friends and family, always cooking a great meal. She was always there to help anyone in need. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be sadly missed.
Lucille is survived by her daughter Sharon (Tom) Brown of Fulton, IL; 7 grandchildren - Ken (Stacey), Sherri (Dan), Mike (Kelley), Kim (Todd), Nicole (Tim), Richard and John (Jennifer); 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; daughter in-law - Sallie Dodd of Knoxville, IL; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Lucille in death were her parents, husband, son - Warren Dodd and two sisters
