Mr. Grant was 26 years old. He was raised in Clinton. His wife was Miss Irene Rixon. He had been ill for two years, and went to the far west last October, believing the change would benefit his health. It was not believed by his parents and friends that the end was near.

Two brothers are left with the parents. They are Frank, a high school student, and Clifford, a student at the Iowa State University.
