Lost Nation, Ia. Jan 5--Dora Mohl, daughter of the deceased, Chris Mohl and Mary Mohl was born March 23, 1887, on the Chris Mohl farm. She was not well from infancy, but until she was seven her parents had hopes that she would be well. From the ages of 7 to 14 she was alternately well and then ill, but with no improvement. Physicians held out no hopes for her future. All that love and patience and the best of care could do for her, was done in the 29 years of her life in the parental home, where she dwelt, an invalid the most of her life. Her final illness was of short duration. Last Sunday her sister became alarmed at her condition and sent for help, but in twenty minutes, at 4 o'clock in the morning, she closed her eyes in the last sleep. She leaves besides her mother, who was too ill to attend the funeral, two sisters, Mrs. Henry Stoffregen, of Fayette, and Marie, at home, and five brothers, Carl, Fred and Will of Lost Nation, and Henry and John of Davenport, all of whom were here for the funeral. Funeral services were held from the Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Vollmer preaching the sermon from the text, First Epistle St. Peter, 4: "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind; for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; that he should no longer live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men but to the will of God." The choir, composed of the Misses Winnie Schoff and Edna Schultz and Messrs. Burrichter and Dickman, sang "Rest for the Weary" and "Asleep in Jesus" The pallbearers were Lou Christensen, Arthur Schultz, Leo Schubert, Leon Schmidt, Raymond Janett and Henry Busch., Interment was made in the Lost Nation cemetery. The community sympathizes with the family in the loss of a sister and in the illness of the mother.
