Mrs. Helen Spielman Hobart, wife of Harry H. Hobart, died at Agatha hospital Friday afternoon at 5:20 o'clock after an illness of less than a week. Hemorrhagic meningitis in virulent form is given as the cause.

Mrs. Hobart took sick last week but her condition was not alarming. Wednesday of this week, however, she was taken with convulsions after she had been removed to the hospital, and did not regain complete consciousness. A consultation of Clinton doctors and a specialist called from Chicago resulted in the diagnosis given.

Mrs. Hobart was born at Tipton, Ia. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Spielman, now of Topeka, Kan. She was married to H. H. Hobart of this city May 31 of this year, and their new home at 512 Melrose Court had recently been completed. The funeral will be held there Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Dean F. H. Burrell of St. John's Episcopal church will officiate. The service will be private. Burial will be made in Springdale cemetery.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Hobart leaves to mourn her death a brother, Harold G. Spielman of Storm Lake; her grandmother, Mrs. J. A. Spielman, of Fairfield, Iowa, and a number of near relatives. Added to these are a long list of friends with whom Mrs. Hobart had become popular and to whom her early death brings deep sorrow.

Among the relatives who have arrived and will come to attend the funeral are the parents, who had gone to California to spend the winter; Harold Spielman, W. G. W. Geiger, Tipton, an uncle; Mr. and Mr. Fred Spielman, Fairfield; Katherine Turney, Fairfield; Mr. and Mrs. Emshizer of Topeka, Kan., and Miss Bernice Emshizer of Topeka.
