Patrick Welsh, an old and respected citizen of Clinton, died this morning at 3 o'clock, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ernest Smith, 111 Third avenue, after an illness of ten days, due to paralysis.

Mr. Welsh was born in Limerick, Ireland, seventy years ago. He came to America at the age of 20, and was car repairman for the C. & N. W. Railway company for many years, retiring from active life ten years ago on account of ill health. Since then he had been in the service of the city.

Mr. Welsh was married July 4, 1875, to Miss Margaret Donahue, who died fourteen years ago, and since this time he has made his home with his daughter on Third avenue.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Patrick's church.

Left to mourn Mr. Welsh are seven daughters, two sons having preceded their father. The daughters are Mrs. Harry Upton, Bennett; Mrs. George Woodiffe, Chicago, Mrs. Truman Shoemaker, Chicago, Mrs. H. G. Morgan, Clinton; Mrs. Ernest Smith, Clinton; Mrs. Winifred Nixon, Clinton, and Mrs. H. S. DeWitt, Clinton. Twenty-six grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Patrick Welsh were held at St. Patrick's church this morning at 9 o'clock, the Rev. Father Murray officiating. Burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery.

Patrick Welsh died Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ernest Smith, 111 Third avenue, after an illness of ten days due to paralysis. He was an old resident of Clinton and for many years was an employe of the C. & N. W. as car repairman.

Seven daughters are left to mourn their father's death, all of whom were here to see their father during his last illness and for the funeral. They are Mrs. Harry Upton, Bennett; Mrs. George Woodiffe, Chicago, Mrs. Truman Shoemaker, Chicago; Mrs. H. G. Morgan, Clinton; Mrs. Ernest Smith, Clinton; Mrs. Winifred Nixon, Clinton and Mrs. H. S. DeWitt, Clinton.
