Marvin Joseph Cullen, aged 13 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Cullen, of Fifth avenue nd Bluff Road, died at 2:15 this morning, after a brief illness. Death was due to typhoid fever and peritonitis.

Deceased was taken ill just one week age today with a fever. He gradually grew worse and everything that medical aid could do was to no avail, and he passed away this morning.

"Marv" as he was familiarly known by his many friends, was born in Clinton, February 5th, 1903. He was a student at St. Mary's school, and his many schoolmates and friends will be grieved to learn of his death. He was a bright, manly little fellow, and his sunny disposition endeared him to the hearts of many. His grief-stricken parents, brothers and sister have the sympathy of their many friends.

He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Leslie of Chicago and John, and one sister, Miss Catherine, at home.

Funeral arrangements have not been made as yet.

The funeral of the late Marvin Joseph Cullen will be held from the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Cullen, Fifth avenue and Bluff road, Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Solemn High mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's church and burial will be made in St. Mary's cemetery. Among the friends and relatives here for the funeral are: Miss Helen Southworth of Rochelle, Ill.; William McCaffery of Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Owen McCaffery and Mrs. Clyde Seamands, Maquoketa; Mrs. T. Skell of Davenport, and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Cullen of Chicago.

Impressive funeral services were held this morning at St. Mary's church for the late Marvin Joseph Cullen, son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Cullen. The funeral cortege left the house at 9 o'clock and proceeded to St. Mary's church, where a solemn high mass was celebrated, with Monsignor E. J. McLaughlin as celebrant, Rev. James Brady deacon and Rev. J. H. O'Donnell sub-deacon. Mgr. McLaughlin delivered an eloquent sermon and the choir rendered special music. The Boys' Sodality, of which the deceased was a member, attended in a body. Many friends attended to pay their last respect to the deceased. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful.

The honorary pallbearers were John Chase, Rodney Fitch, Hobart Tucker, Eugene Clark, Frank Kersting, Dwight Gabriel, Raymond Galloway and Earl Galloway. The active pallbearers were Adrian Mooney, Hugh Saxton, Charles Deubner, Jack Dolan, Morgan Maloney and Elbert Haller. Burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery.
