Daniel Harrisen Woodruff, born January 1, 1841, near Gilboa, Ohio, died today at 1:30 after a short illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. F. Hauke, with whom he had resided many years.
His boyhood was spent in Ohio, where he joined the Union army as a volunteer in 1861. He served in the 21st Ohio volunteers and received his honorable discharge in '61.
He came to Clinton in 1868. He was married to Olive Knapp December 31, 1870, who died February 17, 1913.
Left to mourn are two children, Mrs. Ida Hauke and Miss Marie Woodruff.
He was a member of the First Methodist church and of the Modern Woodman lodge.
