From The Clinton Age, Feb. 18, 1870

DIED -- NICHOLS -- In this city on the 13th instant, Emma B. Nichols, aged 7 years and 8 months -- only daughter of H. H. and Ella S. Nichols.
Of such is the kingdom of heaven -- Little Emma was the light and life of her home and she has stepped across the dark river to be an angel among the group of innocents who have gone thither in response to Christ's invitation -- "Suffer little children to com unto me." Though the parents may mourn the loss of their first born, they should find consolation in the knowledge that all is well with the child.
