Cornelius Whalen, a former well-known Clinton resident, passed away at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at his home at Gambril, Iowa.

The deceased was the son of Mrs. Mary Whalen, who resides on Second avenue, this city, and a brother of Policeman Charles Whalen and John Whalen of this city. He was about 55 years of age, and had retired from business. His wife survives him.

The funeral arrangements were not announced today.
