Joe Stodden, aged 72 years, a former resident of this city died at 10:30 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bert Eisenhaur in South Clinton, after a lingering illness with a complication of diseases.

Deceased was born in Prussia, Germany and came to this country in 1869. His wife died about 12 years ago.

He is survived by three children, Mrs. Mary Parsons, of Minneapolis, Mrs. Bert Eisenhaur of Clinton and one son Matt, of Cascade. One brother, Frank, of Lyons, also survives.

The funeral will be held Thursday morning from the home of his brother, Frank Stodden on North Fifth street and services will be held at St. Boniface church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made in St. Boniface cemetery.
