page 6Wednesday evening at 8:40 o'clock at the family home 317 Clinton street, occurred the death of Mrs. John Kraus after an illness of some three months duration, part of which time was spent in the hospital. Some two years ago Mrs. Kraus underwent an operation and since that time had not been in the best of health, although she was not confined to her bed until the past few months. However, since her last illness she failed until death came last night.
Miss Elizabeth Rowe was born in Montreal, Canada, July 10, 1859 and went from there to Chicago and thence to Low Moor about 1865. She was married July 3, 1876 at Dubuque to John Kraus and shortly after that they came here to reside and have made their home in this city for a number of years.
Mrs. Kraus is survived by five children, Mrs. Robert Haring of this city, J. Frank Kraus, Mrs. Will R. Gilbert of Lewiston, Mont., Hiram R. Kraus and Mrs. Harold E. Jordan of this city, also two sisters, Mrs. S. P. Stumbaugh and Mrs. DeWitt Baker of this city and one brother, Charles Rowe of Onslow, Iowa, and two grand children.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock from the home 317 Clinton street, with Rev. W. E. Stockley of Grace church officiating and burial will be in Oakland cemetery.

page 6The funeral of the late Mrs. John A. Kraus was held Saturday afternoon from the home, 317 Clinton street at two o'clock with Rev. W. E. Stockley, officiating.
The pall bearers were Robert Green, J. H. Nissen, T. G. Boer, Matt Finch, Ed Metzgar and Charles Au, and burial was in Oakland cemetery. Among those from out of town who were here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Howe and daughter, Ruth, of Onslow, Ia., Mrs. August Storm and son, Clarence of Miles, and Mrs. Thos. Rowe, also of Miles, and Grover Rowe of Eau Claire, Wis.
