PETER BEHRENS, HUSBAND OF THE LATE MRS. BEHRENS, PASSED AWAY MONDAY MORNING.
WIFE BURIED SUNDAY
Long Time Resident of This City Dies After a Lingering Illness -- Grief Over Death of Wife Hastened His Demise -- Funeral Announcements Later.Peter Behrens, husband of the late Mrs. Peter Behrens, who was buried Sunday, died Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock at his home, 1106 Chicago street. His death was not unexpected as he had been in very poor health for a number of years, and had been failing fast since the death of his wife, which was a severe blow to him in his weakened condition.
Mr. Behrens was an old and respected resident of tis city and was about 78 years of age at the time of his death. Three daughters and two sons are left to mourn his death. Emma Hansen of Nashua, Mrs. Robert Payne and Mrs. William Krebs of Clinton, John Behrens of Andover and Henry Behrens of Bryant.
The funeral arrangements are not completed but will probably be held Wednesday.The Clinton Herald, Oct. 7, 1913
Page 8The funeral of the late Peter Behrens, whose death occurred Monday morning will take place from the residence 1106 Chicago street Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Hugo Grimm of St. John's Lutheran church will have charge of the services. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.

Page 8The funeral services of the late Peter Behrens was held at the residence in 1106 Chicago street Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Hugo Grimm of St. John's Lutheran church oficiated. During the services Miss Gladys Shadduck ?? two solos. Interment was in oakland. The following were pallbearers: Henry Stange, Clause Michalsen, Hans Ploen, Martin Hansen, A. Christiansen and Jens Asmussen.
