Page 10Funeral services for the late Christopher C. Dillon were held at St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock Monday morning. The pallbearers were John Monahan, Edward Monahan, John Burke, Otis Young, Timothy Gallagher, John McKenna, P. J. Melvin and William Cullen.
Mr. Dillon passed away at the residence 633 Tenth avenue, at 9:45 o'clock Saturday morning following a four month's illness of Bright's disease. He was born in Ireland in 1845 and came to New York state when he was eight years of age. At the beginning of the civil war he enlisted in the New York artillery and served through the war. At the close of the war, 1865, he came to Clinton and married here the same year.
He had been a resident of Clinton ever since and was one of Clinton's most respected citizens. Having been employed by the Northwestern railroad for a great many years, he was particularly well known to the railroad people of the city and was respected by all of his hosts of friends.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Mrs. W. P. Adams of Chicago, she being the only daughter living. Jane Dillon having died twelve years ago, a sister, Mrs. John Drew of Chicago, and a brother Thomas Dillon of Minneapolis. All of the relatives were present at the funeral and among those who were from out of town was Patrick Drew of Chicago, a nephew.
