Mrs. Marie Kennedy (nee Bulger) a pioneer resident of this city passed away Friday evening at her home, 213 North Second street after an illness of some week's duration, due to a paralytic stroke suffered about 42 years ago, and from which cause she has been an invalid for many years.

Miss Marie Bulger was born on a farm in DuPage county, Ill., and at the time of her death was over 71 years of age. In 1861 she was married to Wm. Kennedy, who preceded her in death about 18 years ago.

Mrs. Kennedy has been a resident of this city for more than 50 years and during that time had made a number of friends here who will be grieved to learn of her death as she was always known to all as a kind and loving mother, who was extremely devoted to her family of twelve children, five of whom survive her. They are Wm. Kennedy, Mrs. Dan Gainey, E. J. Kennedy, Mrs. E. H. Davis and Charles Kennedy all of this city, also two sisters, the Misses Rose and Margaret Bulger of Elgin, Ill. She also leaves nine grand children, two great grand children of this city and a number of nieces and nephews of Chicago, Ill.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at nine o'clock from the home, 213 North Second street to Irenaeus church and from thence to Cavalry cemetery.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Marie Kennedy were held this morning at nine o'clock from the home at 213 North Second street to St. Irenaeus church where Rev. James Comerford said mass and spoke in highest terms of the deceased.

Burial was in Calvary cemetery and the pall bearers were James McQuillen, T. J. Hudson, C. W. Cawley, Thos. Cawley, Thomas Lee and Matt Lee.
