William E. Kammer was born Oct. 10, 1886, near Lost Nation, Clinton county, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. On Feb. 4, 1908, he was united in marriage to Blanche M. McMillan. This union was blessed with three children: Beulah May, Clyde Leland and Lois Gertrude. When a young man he embarked in the implement business with his father. After a successful career of three years he retired from business and bought a farm house near Ruthven, Palo Alto county, Iowa, where with his family he resided for four years. They then bought a farm home near Granite Falls, Minn., where they lived until two days before he passed away at a Minneapolis hospital at the age of 29 years, 4 months and 13 days. He leaves to mourn his untimely death a loving wife, three children, a father and mother, one sister, Mrs. Fannie M. Wick, of Maynard, Minn.; one brother, E. L. Kammer, of Ruthven, Iowa, and hosts of friends.

From boyhood Will was a regular attendance at church and Sunday school and early in life answered the call of the Master and united with the Methodist church, in which he was an active member until he changed his membership to the Congregational church of this place. Will was an exemplary young man of steady habits, industrious, an affectionate father, a true and loving husband, and a good citizen and loved by all who knew him.

McMillin and F. L. McMillin of Ruthven, Ia.; and Mrs. A. C. McMillin of Spencer, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Wick of Maynard, Minn., and Hilt and Wallace Kammer of Lost Nation, Iowa.
