Word has been received by Clinton friends of the death of Dr. Margaret McNiff, at her home, 7439 Cottage Grove avenue, Chicago, August 21. Her death was due to heart failure. Dr. McNiff was born in Marion, January 27, 1850, and at an early age came to Clinton where she was educated in the public schools and in 1869 she was married to Rev. M. McNiff of Clinton. In 1872 she moved to Chicago. She has always been a diligent church worker and was a member of the Ingleside Methodist church official board for nineteen years and was superintendent of the home department for many years. She graduated from Haneman Medical college in 1893 and from Harvey Medical college in 1896 and taught obstetrics in the Herring Medical college for a number of years. Dr. McNiff was also a school inspector in Chicago until her health failed.
